The Writing Writer

I sit here drinking one tall cold glass of some really nice beer. Delicious. My girlfriend is in the other room. Enjoying the final days of her internet movie service. Cranking out the hours before the end; she is giving the movie one helluva go. Some horror movie based around general paranoia and cell phones. It's a sad state of affairs when movies stoop to the level of duplication and audio effects to make ones hair stand on end. I enjoy a good B-movie here and there, so...

I have a great mind to buy a small farm with land and raise chickens. I hated that lifestyle as a kid, but now find it irresistible. I cannot go one day without thinking about it. We are currently working this "living together" situation out, going through the normal paces. Irritability and frustration can run thick at times, but I thoroughly enjoy it overall. There is definitely something to be said about companionship when it works. I quite enjoy this girl's company. She challenges me to no end and I believe I keep her on her toes as much as possible without getting tossed to the street. Good thing too, considering its about 10 degrees outside right now. One finds out a lot about themselves when living in such close quarters with another. I find myself explaining habits and traits that I myself have never even put much thought into. One example: I go through many of what I call "stages" week to week and month to month. Powerful lusts to watch movies for two weeks or so then on to music then video games. Its a strange cycle that I have never laid out into words or even noticed for that matter.

Strange responses coming from the bedroom. "Oh my god!" "EEEWWWW!!!"

She's a very sweet girl. Quite the complimenting second half to my weirdness.

I have been wanting to get out my art supplies and buy an easel. Maybe my "farm" should have a second story room with a good view to place such a device. Along with a fully stocked bar. I used to assemble models and mess with mass quantities of hot glue in such a window. Memories.

I want to burn some trash or anything for that matter. Blow something up. Maybe buy a shotgun and shoot holes in a beer can or 30. Wow, that stands off the page as quite a mad urge. I think I am becoming more of my fathers' son everyday. Funny how the apple really never does fall too far from the tree, as it were...

Wow its been a while

So without going back and reading the last blog post I can say that there have been some changes since I posted that back in June.

-I still have the "new" position at work. That is getting much better.
-I have a new girl I have been seeing basically since the Fourth of July. Her name is Katie, she's a good girl. ;)
-I still don't smoke, which I have to say is better than someone else I know who has "quit" smoking. Still encouraging people to use Chantix and quit that evil habit.
-I have been playing Rockband like crazy lately again. I absolutely can't wait for the second installment coming out this month. I am probably going to spend way too much money on that one as well.
-Rocking an even newer haircut, Thanks Em! (planning on a new one though already!)
-Still needing a new car, but am really close to painting Black Magic.
--Also my brother has done some wonderful things in resurrecting the old girl
-Music: Listening to Wu-Tang increasingly. Found out I really like the Smashing Pumpkins. Blind Melon and Bush have made their way back into the shuffle.
-I think I may be the only one using Myspace lately.
-New spot...Professor's. Awesome
-Been using a lot of words from my childhood in the 80s like Rad, Awesome, Totally, and Gnarly. I like it.
-Wore overalls to Oktoberfest. No video or photos and that is sad!

The end of the decade...

So I am almost done with my current job. I sit here only 2 days from it. The end. A friend put some finality on it by saying "so you will never work there again?"

That really made it sink in.

Then I started thinking about the things I will never do again, ever. Things that I am mostly happy with not having to do again. But also somewhat saddened by it all. Its almost like coming to grips with someone's death. Knowing that you will never again see them alive and the memories are all you have. I am not trying to be morbid, but I had to relate it to the finality that death has.

I don't think it is so much that I am sad that it is almost over, but that it was sprung upon me so quickly and now I have to face the idea that 10 years is about to conclude.

So yay, new job! I am excited. Let a new adventure begin!

Updates

So I haven't posted for a while. Been kind of busy. So I thought I would post some updates. Since the last post I have had some interesting things happen. 1) The Megadeth show was awesome. I got a little too fucking drunk, but it was a blast. The whole trip was fun. From the drive down to hanging out in our posh hotel to the concert itself. All of it was fun. The video below has some clips from that trip.

2) My biological father has added me as a friend on Myspace. I don't know exactly what to say about it, but I think it is cool enough to mention. 3) My mom has herself a Myspace account now. She says so she can keep up with stuff I am doing, but its probably so she can keep an eye on me. (Thanks Mom) She is also getting pretty good at GH. Or so she tells me anyways. Go Mom! 4) Stack has finally moved into his new residence. I am awaiting the go ahead on the "break-in" party. He has been pretty busy lately too. 5) And finally, I took a little trip down to Wichita to see the Murrows. It was Kristin's B-Day and they got one of those Party Buses. That was such a good time. This trip was the first one I had ever taken alone. It was kind of fun driving just by myself. You can really belt out some singing when no one is with you! I went down on Friday night and we partied a little too much considering we would have a full day on Saturday. Some clips from Friday night are below.

Then as you can see in this next video we were a little hungover the next day. We still had fun though. We traveled to Dillon's and got some "Long John's and Diet Coke" pretty early. We slept, we Baggo'd, we slept some more. We grilled some steaks. But mostly we spent the day recovering and getting ready for the big night...

Then of course we boarded the Party Bus around 9 pm. This thing was pretty bangin'. It was basically a limo in bus form. So we basically drove around and hit some bars and drank the night away. There is some funny stories from that night, but I am not gonna post them. If you were there, you know what happened. HAHA. Anyways, here's the video. PARTY!

So there's a little update on the stuff going on lately. -RandomEye

Trip

So I am excited to be going on a mini trip this weekend. We are going to Denver for a concert. MEGADETH!!! So we are gonna see a little Mustaine and hangout in a pretty plush hotel. KAG got us a room at the Courtyard Marriot which I hear is really nice. It should be a good time. I will report in when I get back as to how it all went.

I will probably get some video footage of the trip as well and post it.

Politics and Religion?

There is one Golden Rule when drinking about conversations: don't talk about Politics or Religion. This rule was broken by a few of my friends on Saturday night. I knew right away to just stay out of it. But I did hang around and listen. What I found out about why these are bad topics is that there are way too many opinions about them. Everyone has a strong opinion and concerning religion, very invested emotions and faith. When alcohol is added to those opinions and emotions, things can get heated. I tend to be very open about religion. I see many points that people have. I think that having a closed mind about things unknown is not the way to see things. I don't want to get into all of my opinions here, all I am saying is I tend to explore many ideas about religion as theories and "well, what if this was true...?" thoughts about the subject. But politics on the other hand, I have some strong opinions. I currently have a $100 bet on the Presidential Race because of my hard-headed opinions about the matter. These two subjects can be Buzzkillers at parties or gatherings, and are not advisable. They tend to wrap up valuable hanging-out time and fun. And usually it whittles down to two people hashing out there opinions and many times people get angry with each other. So I just thought I would throw that out there. This is not a commentary on Politics or Religion, more of an observation about alcohol and its interaction with these topics. In other news, the Shawn boy is finally moved in. -RandomEye
